Podcast Favorites
Driving in traffic in Los Angeles gets old. Driving in traffic in Los Angeles listening to the radio is straight up torture. Now, I am an avid music listener, don't get me wrong. You can find me jammin' anytime anywhere... sitting, standing, dancing, you name it. But sometimes I need a little break from the tunes.
Introducing, podcasts. The podcast world has been around for awhile, however, I only recently discovered the beauty of them. The plentiful variety of radio talk shows that are available (FOR FREE) is absolutely mind boggling. From the intellectually stimulating to the easy ear junk, Podcasts can take you anywhere. Not only can you listen to these babies driving, but you can also listen to them working out, cooking, or before falling asleep. So here I am to tell you just a few of my favorite podcasts... please don't judge my audio choices.
Happier with Gretchen Rubin
TED Radio Hour
TED has become a popular way for knowledge consumption, but I've found that "TED Radio Hour" is a more efficient way of expanding the mind, on the go. If you're ever in the mood for some quality learning, take a listen to this podcast.
The Great Debates
When I'm in the mood for some witty commentary on society, I put on The Great Debates. Geniuses Steve Hely and Dave King debate random topics without any preparation at all, and kill it every time. Click down below to listen to their most recent episode:
Ghetto House Radio
I'm not sure how popular this show is, but if you are an EDM fan then definitely check this one out. Each week they have new popular EDM DJ's play a set. You can find me going hard on the treadmill sweating to GHR... what can I say, it pumps me up.
Here To Make Friends
YES, I AM GUILTY. Guilty of what you may ask? Guilty of watching trashy, mind numbing television that promotes idiotic dating principles, otherwise known as The Bachelorette. And you know what's even more sad? I like to listen to a podcast that ironically discusses The Bachelorette. Because that's who I am. So if you are, like me, a fellow Bachelorette fanatic, take a listen. Each week they have a guest on the show and once they even had The Bachelorette herself, Kaitlyn Bristowe :o
Watch the Thrones
Game of Thrones fans unite!!! I, among the entire world, am a Game of Thrones junkie. Therefore I get great joy from listening to other fans review the show. If you are itching to talk to someone about Game of Thrones latest episode, but none of your friends watch it, then take a listen. Share your love of quality television with people who know a lot about the series.
These are just a few of my favorites, and there are so many more out there! I am always on the hunt for new podcasts so let me know which ones are your favorites.
Until next time!

Must Try Summer Jewelry Looks
So I know it's been a hot second since I've posted on the blog! Summer has been a huge distraction, but I'm ready to get back on track. I'm also planning on showing outfit diaries in the near future so look forward to that.
But just because it’s hot and sticky,
doesn’t mean you need to slack on your jewelry game! Hardware is a fun way to elevate any outfit this
season. Whether you like rings, bracelets, necklaces, or piercings, you can
always find an occasion to add some bling.
Minimal Millie
Silver Warrior
The elaborate silver tribal necklace is another widespread sight, especially seen at this year’s Coachella festival. These wild pieces shine strongly when matched with fabrics like linen or denim. The best part about this style is that they go with outfits for day and night. Perfect transitional pieces!
Crystal Gal
There’s
a certain spiritual sensation that
comes with wearing stone and crystal. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a
psychic to rock this trend. Pair classy earrings with an all white get up or
wear a necklace with a simple white tee and boyfriend jeans.
All
pictures can be found on my Polyvore profile.
Spring Workout Looks
There's nothing more satisfying than that feeling after a good workout session. Lately, I've been trying to workout more by attempting Kayla Itsines' BBG 12 week program. I'll probably do a review on the program when I'm finished, but right now I'm only on week 7. Going to the gym and being surrounded by other people working out is inspirational and always interesting. While doing the elliptical or treadmill, I always find my eyes wandering to look at people's gym outfits. Wearing something you feel sexy in has a huge positive impact on your workout. For that reason, I've compiled a few gym looks to get inspired from.
Gold headphones: Frends
Sports Bra: Varley
Tote: Cafe Press
Sweatshirt: Adidas
Shorts: New Look
Water Bottle: Nordstroms
Sneakers: Nike
Keep things vibrant with a minimalist look paired with a pop of tangerine. Anyone who is lucky enough to be tan at the time of year could pull this color palette off perfectly. I especially love this sassy bag with the "Bye Felicia" phrase that's been so popular lately.
Tank: Etsy
Sweater: Monki
Leggings: Victoria's Secret
Water Bottle: Dash
Sports Bra: House of Fraser
Headband: Under Armour
This outfit has both pattern play AND sass. I found the saying on the tank really ironic and hilarious... I hope you did, too. Wear an outfit like this to go running outside or even shopping in.
Sunglasses: Gilt
Headphones: Dot & Bo
Bag: Victoria's Secret
Leggings: Lululemon
Sneakers: Nike
This last look has a great spring color palette using light greens and blues. But more importantly, how cool are these leggings? Some patterns are unflattering and can make legs look bigger instead of smaller, but I think the cutout mesh on these is figure flattering.
Let me know what you guys think! What do you wear to the gym? Would you say gym clothes are worth investing in? Comment below on your thoughts.
Until next time.

What to Wear For An Interview
So you have an interview for that amazing summer internship you've always dreamed of and you can't help but freak out. This is your first chance to dive into the professional world and put something actually useful on your resume. You've visited your university's career advising for interview tips, but you can't help feeling that something is missing. Finally it's the morning of your interview and you realize the problem: You don't know what to wear! Well lucky for you, your girl Mimi has got some outfit ideas coming your way. Whether your internship is professional or more casual, always try and look your most presentable at an interview. First impressions last a long time and can be the deciding factor on whether you get the job. Here we go.
Blazer: Choies
T-shirt: Zara
Necklace: Taylor Boutique
Skirt: Zara
Heels: Jimmy Choo
Bag: Saint Laurent
Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Nail Polish: Essie
This look is for the career woman that is applying for a real deal professional internship. Every article of clothing is very conservative and sophisticated, yet graceful. Make sure the neckline isn't too steep and the skirt hemline isn't too short. Pair it all with a sleek pony and you're ready to kill that interview!
Trousers: Zara
Blazer: Rag & Bone
Earrings: Moorea Seal
Glasses: Anthropologie
Clogs: Michael Kors
If the job or internship you are applying for has more of a casual, creative vibe then translate that into your outfit! Interviewers will definitely notice your sense of artistry in your clothing especially since it is their first impression of you. Just remember to still keep things clean and professional.
Blazer: H&M
Top: Urban Outfitters
Trousers: Forever 21
Eyeliner: Revlon
Sandals: Target
Earrings: Urban Outfitters
Phone Case: Etsy
For those of you who are on a budget, and let's be honest job hunters usually are, then this look is tailored just for you. When looking for affordable, professional clothing, I find that H&M and Zara (sale) are your best options. No one said you needed to buy designer to look fab, darling. The trick is to make your hair and makeup polished.
Blazer: Zara
Shirt: Uniqlo
Watch: Lord and Taylor
Pants: Selected
Shoes: Church's
Because everyone needs interview outfit inspiration, I decided to create a look for males as well. Men's fashion is as fun, if not more fun, than women's fashion in my opinion. There are so many ways to mix and match tops and bottoms with jackets and shoes. To check out more male's fashion, read Adam Gallagher's blog I AM GALLA. His blog displays beautiful photos of his California meets New York style which looks like it came straight out of a Zara catalogue.
I hope that my interview fashion inspiration and tips helps your future job or internship hunt! Let me know in the comments what your take on office style is. Slay those interviews!
Until next time.

Mimi
Spring Savors: Brussels Sprout Sliders
I first saw this vegetarian brussels sprout sliders recipe on Pinterest and was immediately in love with the idea of substituting the bread with a vegetable. I think healthier versions of classic foods, if executed well, is such a fun way to enjoy food. Even if you aren't a huge brussels sprouts fanatic, I think this recipe is still worth trying. The final result tasted smokey and sweet all at once with the sweet onions and rich flavoring of the brussels sprouts. If you want more of a meat filled appetizer, feel free to use real burger meat or even proscuitto instead of tempeh. I substituted tempeh with just a vegetarian burger because my local grocery store didn't carry tempeh. Also, if you don't have tamari in your cabinet, you can always use a light soy sauce instead. This recipe will be the first installment of a Spring recipe series so look forward to the next spring main course! If you try out this recipe, let me know how it tasted.
Until next time.

Travel Hacks 101
With summer around the corner, people will be
traveling left, right, up and down. Whether you are traveling by car, train or
airplane, being prepared to travel comfortably and efficiently is key. I
personally LOVE traveling by plane. I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but
for some reason I love the idea of walking through an airport surrounded
by strangers from different parts of the world. I think the airport is a great way
to encounter people from all types of backgrounds. That being said, I wanted to
share a few ideas on traveling like a Kiss Me Kloth pro.
1. Packing
Depending on
where you go, the first step to travelling like a pro is to check the weather
app. I find that seeing the exact temperature narrows down a lot of clothing
options and reminds me not to pack 5 swimsuits. The next step is to make a
list. Now, this list doesn’t have to be a full on story, but just a few general
categories jotted down can really help. I usually have 6 labels: clothes,
shoes, makeup, toiletries, accessories and technology. And finally, don’t
forget to ROLL lighter weight clothing items and LAY DOWN heavier sweaters on
top. This trick really can allow for more room in an already cramped suitcase.
2. Style
Ok, if you are the person who
likes to wear stilettos while waiting in long lines at the airport please stop
reading now. This article isn’t for you, congratulations on your insanely fit
calves. FOR THE REST OF US who just want to get somewhere in one piece, read
on. Flat shoes, whether they are sneakers, boots, or sandals are a MUST. For
the chilly air conditioning on the plane (is anyone else freaked out by the
recycled air or is that just me?), bring some type of sweater or cardigan. My
favorite cozy accessory for planes: fuzzy socks. Let me tell you, these babies
have really saved me. Cold feet = cold life, people. A scarf is another warm
accessory that can double as a pillow for those of you who didn’t bring a neck
pillow (more on that down below). For the bottoms half, I’d say stay away from
any material that involves squeezing or anything you couldn’t eat a
Thanksgiving dinner in. Sweats, leggings, or even some baggy shorts will do.
Rompers are hella comfortable, but going to the bathroom can sometimes be a
struggle.
Jacket: YSL
Shirt: Forever 21
Pants: Nelly
Suitcase: Nordstrom
Scarf: Anthropologie
Sneakers: Nike via Bloomingdales
Cardigan: H&M
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
Hear band: Lane Crawford
Romper: Miss Selfridge
Bag: Hermes
3. Essentials
These are
just some quick little products that improve a travel experience immensely.
Because planes, trains, and buses are so dry, lotion, lip balm, and eye drops
are lifesavers. For all the sleeping beauties, remember to pack a sleeping mask
and a neck pillow. No one wants to be that weirdo who will sleep on a
stranger’s shoulder. It could be a great conversation starter, but why make
things awkward? Earphones, of course, are essential for watching movies,
listening to music, or even just blocking out that baby behind you’s incessant
screaming. I have a theory that whenever there’s a crying baby on a plane, all
the passengers experience motherhood for that short (or long) period of time.
Waterbottle: Connox
Neck Pillow: Nordstrom
Ear phones: Kirna Zabete
Eye Mask: Asos
Lip Balm: Burt's Bees
Hair Ties: Madewell
Lotion: Kiehl's
4. Entertainment
And finally,
my favorite category of all: “What to Do While Waiting for 4 Hours”. Of course,
you have your iPhone and you’ve never scrolled down Instagram so hard in your
life, but let’s get creative here. You can always start a new read, one time I
finished a whole book, BJ Novak's One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories, while waiting for a flight. It was the perfect combination of hilarious and enlightening and you should all run to your nearest book store to buy it now. Also if
you don’t have wifi on the plane, releasing yourself from technology at this
time would be beneficial. My favorite magazines that I buy from the airport shops
are Lucky, Cosmopolitan, The Food Network Magazine, and Better Homes and
Gardens. Although I must say that if you are in the middle of the raunchy “100
New Sex Positions” article in Cosmo be aware of your surroundings. Those
pictures can get pretty graphic. My next entertainment recommendation is podcasts.
I know I’m late to this party, but I’ve lately become incredibly addicted and
will soon be posting an article on my favorite podcast shows. Podcasts remind
me that there is an incredible amount of knowledge at our fingertips and it is easier to access than we realize!
But if you’re tired of reading or listening to things, there’s always sleep.
Sleep conquers all activities.
I hope all of my tips will help you travel bugs on your future summer adventures!
Until next time.
xoxo,
Mimi
